Genesis

Claude Laperiere, Global Battery Business Director IA from Schneider Electric has the idea to build an alliance of industrials to reinforce the competitivity of European solutions for the local GigaFactories.

2022
May 25
Project Launch

First meeting with industrials and academics supporting the project of an alliance. The event was hosted by Schneider Electric in Intencity Grenoble, France, receiving about 15 industrial and academic supporters of the project.

October 6
Official launch of Upcell Alliance

Official launch of Upcell Alliance: Constitution assembly with 7 founding members.

The Launch event was hosted at CNAM Paris with 35 companies, universities & governments supporting the alliance.

Ingrid Leiser, project manager from Schneider Electric, is named Secretary General of the association by the board.

2023
April
Growth

Already 60 members and partners of Upcell Alliance, the first official event of Upcell was hosted in Copenhagen, supported with the participation of Denmark, Norway, France, and Spain.

September
Expansion

Facing a rapid growth and general enthusiasm, Upcell Alliance members vote the expansion of the board welcoming 3 new battery manufacturers as Directors, and expanding connections of Upcell with worldwide partners.

October
One year!

Event held in Barcelona marking one year of Upcell Alliance, supported by the Catalan government. Upcell Alliance counts nearly 100 members & partners.
