General Secretary - Upcell Alliance
Nina is Upcell Alliance’s General Secretary, managing the organization’s overall operations, developing strategic alliances, and ensuring its continued success.
She spent much of her career prior to Upcell at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) within the Energy Storage and Catalysis Group where she managed international industrial research projects, developing a strong understanding of the battery manufacturing process.
With over 15 years of experience in electrochemistry and materials research, she is a highly qualified chemist with a Doctorate in Materials Science from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.

General Secretary - Upcell Asia Pacific
Monroe is Upcell’s Asia Pacific Secretary General, managing the overall operations in Asia, developing business to accelerating the member’s strategic projects and empowering international collaboration.
She has over 5 years experience in the battery industry working for battery manufacturer and equipment provider in Asia and Europe, and she also has experience in international organizations and think tanks. Her passion for renewable energy and excellent understanding of battery supply chain could serve to enhance the Upcell networks.
Monroe holds a master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris and two bachelor’s degrees from Peking University. During her studies, she has served in student associations, organized independent field trips in Africa, and conducted several internships in China, France, and the USA.

International Projects Leader
Claudia leads on researching, developing and managing international
research projects for the batteries industry, working with Upcell members and
the broader ecosystem to foster further cooperation and competitiveness.
Claudia is a European Studies Master’s graduate from Sorbonne Nouvelle. Following an internship within the European Department of the
Ile-de-France Region, she joined HESAM Université where she dedicated her time to partnerships development for higher education and to European and International projects setup within the framework of Horizon Europe, Erasmus+,
Interreg North-West Europe.
Arnau

Executive Assistant
Arnau supports the Alliance’s daily operations, contributing to the smooth coordination of internal activities.
He focuses on managing administrative tasks and ensuring efficient office workflows, with a strong commitment to supporting the team and contributing to Upcell’s broader objectives.
Arnau holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering at the Girona University, balancing his academic development with his role within the Alliance.
